Accessibility statement

Velours Studio is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with article 47 of French law no. 2005-102 of 11 February 2005.

Scope

This statement applies to the website www.velours.io.

A voluntary statement

Velours Studio does not fall within the scope of the legal obligation set out in article 47 of law no. 2005-102: the studio's revenue is far below the €250 million threshold, and it does not operate a consumer e-commerce service within the meaning of Directive (EU) 2019/882. We publish this statement voluntarily, because accessibility is part of what we consider good work.

Conformance status

The website www.velours.io is partially compliant with the French general accessibility framework (RGAA), version 4.1.2, due to the non-conformities listed below. The overall conformance rate is 90.1% of applicable criteria.

Non-conformities

    Project showcase videos have no text transcript or captions. Their content is visual and largely decorative, but the information is not available in an alternative form.

  • Criteria 4.7, 4.8, 4.10

    Videos offer neither audio description nor a keyboard volume control separate from the rest of the page.

  • Criteria 12.5

    The site offers no search engine. A sitemap is available and gives access to every page.

  • Criteria 9.1

    On the Work, About and project pages the main heading (h1) is present in the markup but visually hidden. The heading hierarchy remains valid with no skipped levels, but the page displays no visible title.

Disproportionate burden exemptions

  • The animated WebGL curtain on the About and 404 pages is a decorative graphical experience. Providing a full alternative rendering is a disproportionate burden for a studio of our size. The animation is entirely disabled when the user's system requests reduced motion (prefers-reduced-motion), and it carries no essential information.

Content not subject to the accessibility obligation

Third-party content that is neither funded nor developed by Velours Studio, along with reproductions of archive material, is not subject to the accessibility obligation.

Test environment

Automated checks were carried out with the following combination:

  • Chrome 153 / macOS 15.6 — browser-computed accessibility tree, verified automatically
  • WebKit 26.6 (Safari engine) / macOS 15.6 — keyboard navigation and tab order

Criteria 4.1.2 and 7.1.2 require verifying that rendering is relevant on one of the reference combinations (RGAA §2.4). That screen reader check has not been carried out yet: the results above cover the presence and correctness of names, roles and states in the accessibility tree, not the relevance of what is spoken.
